Hi Michelle. Quick line for feedback since my visit to you about my driving …….. (and extras!). I am heaps more decisive with my driving. I visualised the roundabouts as you suggested, but still often choose to take traffic lights ……. and am comfortable doing so, not feeling panicked into doing so……. I am also finding the things my husband may say or do are not ‘hitting me between the eyes’ like before and I hardly react at all, which is such a relief! We are getting on so much better ……. The best thing about White Water Rafting on the River Faith is that it shows you that someone else has gone through exactly what you have during your time of grief and that is important because you feel less alone.

It shows you the steps, it tells you what you will feel during the steps of grief and that alone helps you to cope.  Grief can make you feel isolated, alone and sure that no-one understands how you feel.

This booklet shows you that it is just a matter of stages, that you are ‘normal’ to feel the numbness, the pain and the anger and it shows you that no matter how hard it seems, you will get through and you will grow from having the experience.

Everyone should read this booklet because one day, we will all feel the absolute horror of grief.  It’s unavoidable when you love and it is important to understand that you are not alone.

I had the opportunity to read ‘White Water Rafting on the River Faith’ by Julie-Ann Bradwyn recently. From the first page to the last, Julie-Ann’s sage advice, born from her own experiences, provide a warm guide to anyone dealing with grief, loss, or life’s rocky patches. Her wonderful practical approach to dealing with some of life’s hardest situations, with good humour, grace and absolute love, is something I will carry with me always. Not long after reading ‘White Water Rafting on the River Faith’, my own life took some unexpected turns and Julie-Ann’s book has been a constant feature of my bedside table – helping me through some very dark days. The thing that struck me most is the volumes of love pouring from every page – I would recommend this book to anyone!!
